As your new DCSBA President, I view collaboration as an important strength of our association. If we take the opportunity to share our successes and issues, we can benefit and help our local boards. To assist this endeavor, we are going to have presentations by many of the member school districts at our monthly meetings. Some of these topics will include Taxation and Finance, Tenure Practices and Passing Bond Propositions. In addition, we will develop our annual Legislative Platform.

I look forward to working with and meeting you at our monthly meetings. Together we can advocate for the needs of our student population.

Alan Binder President

Biography

Alan Binder is serving in his 12th year on the Millbrook School Board, several of those years as Vice President. He is a retired Music Teacher from the Carmel Central School District and an involved and passionate Educator. Currently he is employed by Marshall & Sterling on a part time basis selling Life Insurance.

Alan is a member of the Millbrook Rotary Club and is currently the President Elect. His wife Cheryl is a retired Art Teacher from Poughkeepsie. Katy, his youngest daughter, a student at Towson University, is studying to be an Elementary/Special Ed Teacher. His oldest daughter Hayley, is a Physical Therapist at Braintree Rehab near Boston.
