The role of school board members has changed dramatically from
the inception of public education in New York. Gone are the days
when a school board member chopped the wood to heat a one-room schoolhouse
or solicited room and board for a newly hired teacher. What has
not changed is the abiding commitment of school board members to
our children and their education.
As your roles as board members become evermore complex and time-consuming,
the county association must change and grow to meet your needs.
The executive committee and I hope that this website helps in connecting
you to each other and the information you need to be effective board
members.
In my role as Executive Director it is my privilege to work with
some of the most dedicated volunteers in world of elected officials.
The job may have changed drastically but the paycheck still reads
zero. I thank you for efforts on behalf of our children and wish
you the reward of knowing that your actions help shape our future.
Please contact us at anytime for support.
